Application ThailandPlus
“ThailandPlus” plays part of the enhancement of Thailand’s contact tracing efforts. It uses GPS and Bluetooth to detect the locations of mobile phone, combined with check-in records via QR code scanning in locations to record the travelers’ journey.
The reasons that ThailandPlus kept the journey records are, first it helps travelers be notified the self-monitoring recommendation if travelers have been in close contact with confirmed COVID-19 case. Also, it improves the investigation process of COVID-19 confirmed case in the way that the surveillance rapid response team will get to the traveling timeline as soon as they request.
All information collected will only be used in the limited purpose as above mentioned by The Department of Disease Control, Ministry of Public Health for prevention and control of the COVID-19 outbreak. The data collected and processed will be managed in the way that minimize the possibility for a user to be identified.
ThailandPlus is an extend version of “Morchana” powered by Digital Government Development Agency (Public Organization) and a virtuous collaboration with The Department of Disease Control, Ministry of Public Health, The Ministry of Digital Economy and Society, The Department of Consular Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Tourism Authority of Thailand, Tourist Police bureau and Airport of Thailand public company.
